Elf4Health Day 2 and Uncooperative Weather

Everyone meet my Elf4Health match Lorraine! Her latest post is about cupcakes so I think we are going to get along just fine :)

Yesterday was "Meatless Monday" which wasn't too hard for me. I'm not a vegetarian but I easily could be. I don't eat any red meat or pork, so that leaves chicken and turkey, which most of the time doesn't sound appetizing to me either.

I once again majorly failed at taking pictures of what I ate.

For Breakfast I had a Peanut Butter Clif Bar, and some cinnamon oatmeal.

Lunch was one of my lovely creations. I put mozzarella cheese and spinach on a whole grain flax seed sandwich thin, I put that in the oven until the cheese was melted and then dipped the finish project in pizza sauce. It was actually really good.

I normally eat a snack between lunch and dinner because I'm always hungry but that pizza sandwich thing I made for lunch kept me really full.

We were unusually busy at work last night so I didn't have much time to eat. Normally I would make a salad but last night I just poured myself a bowl of Tomato Basil soup- my favorite soup at work! (especially with a grilled cheese). I only ended up eating about half of the bowl but it was really good. Of course I was hungry when I got home from work so I ate a banana with peanut butter which is my all time favorite snack!

Picture stolen from my work's Facebook

Today's challenge is to unsubscribe from 3 email lists or magazine subscriptions. I don't have any magazine subscriptions so it will have to be email lists. I already have 2 in mind that I will unsubscribe from: Sunglass Hut and JustFab. I love both of their products but I can't afford to buy things from them all of the time. I don't even open their emails anymore they just go straight to the trash. I don't have a 3rd one in mind yet but as soon as the junk emails start rolling in I will start unsubscribing!

I have the absolute worst luck when it comes to traveling. My flight ALWAYS gets delayed or cancelled, I'm not exaggerating when I say ALWAYS. I had no idea there was a big storm coming until I went to work last night and my boss told me good luck on getting home in the storm. Apparently I should watch less E! News and more of the real news. Anyways when I heard this news I was pretty much planning on spending Thanksgiving in an airport because that it just my luck.

Early this morning I got a call from my dad saying that he changed my flight to a different one where I will hopefully avoid the cities that are getting hit by the storm and it will get me home before it hits us. I'm not getting my hopes up though. I could very much be camping out in the airport for Thanksgiving. My roommate made a very good point that airports have pizza and beer so I think I would survive :) Here's to hoping that I make it home tomorrow with no delays or cancellations, or at least before Thanksgiving!

If you are an Elf4health how are your challenges going?

Does anyone else have bad luck when it comes to traveling?
  • I try to avoid flying as much as possible because of this!

MIMM: Free Time

It is another Marvelous Monday here at Running for Cupcakes!

Marvelous is fun nights out with your best friend.

Marvelous is lazy Monday mornings.

Marvelous is forgetting to turn the heat on and waking up to a FREEZING apartment?

Okay so this isn't very marvelous but it did give me an excuse to stay tucked in my warm bed even longer this morning :)

Marvelous is the weather officially being cold in Wilmy...

Until tomorrow apparently. Wilmington weather is so bi-polar!

Marvelous is a 2-day week at school. We only have two days of class this week and my lab was cancelled for today so I technically only have one day of classes this week. Then I am off to Ohio where I will definitely freeze my butt off!

Happy Monday Everyone!

GOTR 5k

I've been interning for the GOTR of Coastal Carolina all semester. Part of my internship is coaching GOTR and Stride and the other part is helping out in their offices. GOTR of Coastal Carolina is based in Wilmington (New Hanover County), but they are in charge of a ton of different counties around New Hanover. In the past years there has only been one 5k for all of them, but GOTR has gotten so popular and expanded so much that they now have 3 different 5ks! So amazing!! I got the pleasure of going with them to help out at the Brunswick County race. Yesterday we drove to Ocean Isle to work packet pick-up and to start setting up some things for the race.

I don't think my car has ever had so much stuff in it! We had 2 cars and a HUGE van all packed with stuff- I never realized how much goes into setting up a race!

The race was this morning and about 370 people showed up which was a great turn out. More than they had last year! I was in charge of "sales"

This was just some of the stuff I was selling. There were t-shirts, cowbells, water bottles, coffee mugs, bracelets, hand clappers, etc...

Butttt my absolute favorite thing we sold was...

These sweet capes! Aren't these so fun?! A bunch of kids bought them and ran in them. I said it would give them super powers and make them run even faster!

We also had a "happy hair" table where the kids could get their hair spray painted in fun colors. I being the intern offered to get my hair sprayed first to make sure it worked and to convince other people to get theirs done. Not gonna lie I'm kinda diggin this look. I might just have to make it permanent when I get my hair done next week... Just kidding! I've actually never been a fan of the "colored hair" thing even if it's just a little stripe, idk why I just don't like it. Praying this comes out when I shower!

The past 24 hours was crazy but so much fun! Helping out at this 5k got me even more excited to run the 5k with the boys and girls I coach! Only 3 more weeks!

Who else is a GOTR or Stride coach, or who wants to be?
Colored hair: yay or nay?

Five Things Friday!

Here are 5 things that I am loving this Friday!

1. Yoplait Smoothies. I know I've said this before, but I LOVE these things. Last night I tried out the chocolate and banana one, I even added some peanut butter to it and it was delicious! I really want to try out the fruit ones too.

2. Best Face Forward Face Wash. I was blessed with pretty good skin so most of the time I just need a good cleanser for my face at the end of the day. This brand is my favorite, it leaves my skin feeling so soft and it smells wonderful!

3. Born to Run. I have been told to read this book by a countless number of people and I finally bought it on my Kindle. I'm not letting myself read it until I'm on the plane heading home next week- I'm dying to read it now!

4. This list I found on Pinterest. Since my grandmother passed away my sister and I are in charge of stuffing my mom and dad's stockings. We majorly failed last year so my parents didn't have stockings- I know we're the worst children ever! We felt terrible so this year we are going to make sure they are overflowing. I found this list of stocking stuffers on Pinterest and it is definitely going to be a huge help!

5. The fifth and final thing that I am loving the Friday is Vanilla Bean Noel. This is my all time favorite scent from Bath and Body Works and I only allow myself to wear it around the holidays. So happy to bring it back out!

Be sure to Link up with Clare and tell everyone what you are loving this Friday!

Now I am off on a short little 18 hour trip! I'll tell you all about it when I get back, I'm so excited!

What are you loving this Friday?

WIAOW

So in fear of sounding really really really dumb... like REALLY dumb I have a confession to make. When I first starting blogging and saw everyone's WIAW posts I for some reason thought that meant it was what they ate on Wednesday. Then me being a genius realized that these were being posted on Wednesday mornings so there was no way it could be what they ate that day unless they can tell the future or something.

I finally read people's posts and realized that it was sometimes what they ate the day before or even a few days before. This made much more sense to me, I don't know why it took me so long to figure this out. So in honor of me being dumb here is What I Ate On Wednesday.

*Just a warning I don't cook fancy meals and make up recipes like a lot of you, I wish I did*

I was running late this morning, which is pretty much the story every morning. So I just grabbed a banana to eat on the go. I'm obsessed with these little minions on the bananas. I may or may not have taken a sticker off of a banana that I didn't want and put it on mine ;)

I also ate a White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Clif Bar on my way to class. I think I've said this before but they are my absolute favorite flavor! I scarfed almost all of it down before I remembered to take a picture.

I also ate a handful of these before my run. I would like to say it was for fuel, but I only ran 2 miles. I really ate them because they were right next to me and they looked delicious.

After my run I was starving so I made a pit stop at my favorite deli/sandwich shop South College Deli. I got turkey and lettuce on wheat bread. (I know it's boring but I'm a picky eater) and their delicious homemade potato chips on the side!

I had the most random dinner. The other half of my sandwich from lunch, mashed potatoes, cheese and crackers and hummus.

And this is how I really eat my dinner. On my lap in front of the TV...

This perfectly good kitchen table never gets used by me or my roommate. Whoops.

So that is what I ate ON Wednesday.

Even though this isn't the conventional WIAW post I'm going to link up with Peas and Crayons for the first time! I promise I'll do the whole WIAW thing the right way next week!

Favorite flavor of Clif Bar?
Do you prefer to eat at a table or in front of the TV?

FINALLY.

I finally got a run in today! After 11 excruciating days of not running I couldn't take it anymore and just went for it. My foot has been feeling better and I really wanted to try out my new compression sleeves- the only 2 excuses I needed to go! I knew this wasn't going to be a long run so I headed to one of my favorite parks near my apartment.

I love this park, but the loop that goes around it is only a little over a mile long so when I do my longer runs I have to go somewhere else. Today I just did an easy 2 mile run, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I did have a little pain in my foot but nothing unbearable like it has been. I'm definitely going to keep resting and icing it though. Don't want to make it worse!

I had a couple hours of free time today which almost NEVER happens so I sat my butt on a bench at the park and caught up on all of my favorite blogs :) It was so relaxing.

I was really excited to go running if you couldn't tell... I also realized today that I don't match. ever. and I really don't care. I changed into a t-shirt after I took this picture and I'm glad I did because it was hot once I started running. It's still a whopping 65 degrees here in Wilmy. Another random fact about me: my socks never match, I feel like it's way too much work to find a matching pair and if I ever lose a sock it doesn't effect me! This drives all of my friends and family crazy, I really don't think it's that big of deal.

Anywhooo after my run I made a quick trip to target and bought this very comfy sweater- this is the first non-running item of clothing I have bought in ages. I just love big sweaters and this is why fall is my favorite fashion season. I swear I have two arms even though it looks like I only have one in this picture. I never take selfies so I'm still trying to master the whole taking pictures of myself in the mirror thing. It's a talent that I clearly do not have! I also bought a new pair of khakis for work which was my main reason for going to Target but that's not as exciting.

After my quick shopping trip I ran home and ate some lunch and then headed out for GOTR practice. When the sun goes down the temperature drops fast, I was freezing by the end of practice! So now I am currently sitting on the couch wrapped up in a blanket and drinking hot chocolate. I don't plan on moving for the rest of the night.

Apparently today is National Hug a Runner Day. I have received zero hugs today, really feelin the love. merp. jk I would probably have a panic attack if people started hugging me, I'm not a touchy feely person AT ALL. I tend to accidentally punch and hit people if they touch me out of nowhere. Sorry not sorry.

Now that is more like it ^^^

Do you prefer running in parks/running trails or on roads?
Are you a hug lover or hater?

I've Come to a Realization

As my title says I came to a realization this morning...

My life is BORING. I've been pondering on what to blog about today and I literally cannot come up with anything.

I haven't had time to come up with or try any new recipes, I'm still letting my foot heal so I haven't been running- hoping to start by the end of the week, I haven't had time to read any books. Nothing

You would think that since I have no time I'm really busy doing cool things but nope it's just school, work, and internship which is all very boring.

Okay so my internship isn't all that boring but there's only so much I can say about it. As I've said before my internship is with the Y. I coach GOTR and STRIDE 4 days and week and then help out in their offices on Fridays. I love it more than anything. Cue the pictures of the cute kids I coach...

I do have something exciting happening with my internship this weekend, but more on that later!

The only other exciting thing I did was sign up for The Lean Green Bean's Elf for Health Holiday Challenge. Pretty excited for this not gonna lie.

Nutritionella

Sorry for this excruciatingly boring post!

Has anyone else signed up for the Elf for Health Challenge?
Does anyone know any good books for me to read over Thanksgiving/Christmas break?

MIMM

It's another Marvelous Monday!

Marvelous is Movie Nights with Friends. Saturday night instead of going out like normal college students my friends and I first went to Texas Roadhouse where we all ate double our weight in yummy food. We literally rolled out of the restaurant. Then we decided to stop at Redbox and get a movie. We picked This is The End because we had heard that it was hilarious, and we were all in the mood for a good laugh. I don't know if we just have a bad sense of humor or what but none of us found it funny, it was just weird and didn't really have a point. Afterwards we watched 21 and Over which was funny at the beginning but I fell asleep halfway through. Woo crazy college students!

Marvelous is Payday! I love payday and actually needed the money this time so that I could get some groceries. (I spent way too much money in Disney) What's not so marvelous is that I left my paycheck at work on Friday so I just waited until I worked again last night to get it. I guess it was for the best so that I wasn't tempted to spend all of it over the weekend.

Marvelous is blogging instead of doing your homework that is due in 4 hours. Hehe I think this one is self-explanatory.

Marvelous is following my new Twitter and Instagram. @RunFor_Cupcakes for Twitter and @_courtmoore for Instagram. This is my desperate but shameless begging... Please follow me! Okay that's embarrassing I'm done I swear.

Marvelous is waking up in the middle of the night starving and eating a Clif Bar in bed.

Marvelous is Peanut Butter and Banana Toast. This is my all time favorite breakfast. It's just peanut butter and banana on a flax seed sandwich thin. Sooo yummy!

And the number one thing that is Marvelous in my Monday is signing up for the Hope 4 Philippines Virtual 5k. I read about it on Hungry Runner Girl's blog and knew I had to sign up. Here's a link to her post with all of the information. All you have to do is donate $15 or more if you would like, and run a 5k Nov 20-24 and send in your times. Everyone who registers gets an active headband and it is for a great cause. Everyone go sign up!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone has a great week!

Social Media Crazy!

When I started this blog it was just something to do to past the time in the summer when a lot of my friends were gone. Now it has kind of become my life! I love, love, love everything about blogging. I decided to step up my game and make a new Twitter, instead of just having my personal account. I also joined bloglovin (I know I'm a little late to the party) I'm trying guys!

My new Twitter handle is RunFor_Cupcakes and my Instagram is _courtmoore. Find and follow me if you'd like! I have literally zero posts on twitter right now but I promise there are a lot to come. This is just the beginning!

I'm excited to start meeting new friends and connect more with the people I have already met.

Are there any other cool blog sites or apps or anything that I should know about?

Thanks for the help!
